Cité des Arts Readers Theater - La Table des veuves and Jean L’ours et la fille du roi

Le théâtre des pauvres bêtes and Cité des Arts present together this special Louisiana French language Reader’s Theatre production. La Table des veuves and Jean L’ours et la fille du roi represent two early comedic stage productions of the theatre troupe, Nous Autres, which became known as Le Théâtre Cadien.

The Cité des Arts Readers Theater Series is designed to bring plays from the classical theater to the contemporary audience in a fun, relaxed, and accessible manner.  With a cast of very talented local actors, it is the goal of the series to educate and inspire our audiences.  To dispel the idea that these plays are inaccessible or meant only for academics.  The plays in the series were written for the masses and still reverberate in our modern times.
