About The Event
Fabulation, or the Re-Education of Undine is a satirical play by Lynn Nottage about a successful Black publicist, Undine, who loses her wealth and high-profile life when her husband absconds with all her money, forcing her to return to her working-class roots in Brooklyn and confront her past and family. The play follows her "riches-to-rags" journey as she navigates her old neighborhood, reconnects with relatives she shunned, and ultimately finds self-knowledge and acceptance, learning she can't outrun her past.
