Hamlet

Hamlet is often studied in high school, an honor Shakespeare would have been proud of, but not something he would have intended. Jean Allemond, the cast's director, producer, and a senior in high school, wanted to have the opportunity to stage a production entirely in the Shakespearean language. This production was created and produced entirely by students who wanted to experience Shakespeare as he intended: on stage, not in class. With students from Lafayette High School, Ovey Comeaux High School, Ascension Episcopal School, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, their production boasts an entirely female cast. With aspiring actors and newcomers alike, this production of Hamlet is sure to be like no other.
