About The Event
Reigning Boudin Cookoff & Bacon Fest Boudin-eating Champion Ryan Rogers launches a one-night standup comedy show called “Meat Sweats Comedy” on October 22 at Cité des Arts, the evening of the Festival at 7:00PM.
“Meat Sweats Comedy” will also feature hilarious talent from around the state, including: Will Merrill, Garrett Hebert, Alana J, Pickle, and more.
New Orleans native Rogers returns to Lafayette to defend his title as a double-golden-pig winner in the 2021 eating competition for links & balls. The Acadiana Advocate recently profiled Rogers’ boudin saga in a story earlier this month.
“Meat Sweats Comedy” is a celebration of my two favorite things: standup comedy & boudin,” said Rogers. “I’m bringing my funniest friends to Lafayette and can’t wait for the audience to laugh so hard they burn some of that newly earned boudin weight.”
Hot off the recent release of his critically acclaimed New Orleans-based comedian Ryan Rogers returns to Comedy House NOLA for a special one-night, two-show performance to record his sophomore album packed with new jokes, stories, and hilarious takes on politics & culture.
Rogers will be joined by Saturday Night Live Season 43 alum Luke Null and fellow local comedian and musician JQ Palms.
This past July, Rogers released his debut comedy album “She Is Me”on more than 30 platforms globally to resoundingly positive reviews. The Current called it “proudly perverse,” while The Acadiana Advocate called Rogers’ rise to stardom “meteoric.” “Rogers is a grinder in the mold of most successful comics,” also said Andrew Comer of Offbeat Magazine.
The Westbank native has been performing comedy for a little more than a year — yet has accomplished quite a bit. This year, he headlined at NOLA Comedy Fest, LGBTLOL Queer Comedy Fest, and the Albuquerque Funny Fiesta. He’ll also be featuring at Hell Yes Fest this November in New Orleans.
