About The Event
“Much Ado About Nothing” is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare, set in Messina, Italy, that follows two couples: the witty, bickering Benedick and Beatrice, and the more traditional, quickly-in-love Hero and Claudio. The plot centers on a malicious plot by the villainous Don John to ruin Hero and Claudio's wedding by making it seem she was unfaithful, leading to public shaming, while friends conspire to trick Benedick and Beatrice into admitting their love for each other, culminating in a double wedding after the truth is revealed.
The Cité des Arts Readers Theater Series is designed to bring plays from the classical theater to the contemporary audience in a fun, relaxed, and accessible manner.
